Maintenance
Maintenance law is a focal point of family law practice. The focus here is on spousal and child maintenance, but parental maintenance and maintenance for unmarried mothers or fathers can also be relevant.
Maintenance payments often extend over a period of many years and can therefore usually have far-reaching financial and, in some cases, existential consequences for those affected. In particular, maintenance cases regularly have to be assessed independently, as they are constantly changing due to changes in age, changes in income and divorce proceedings.
In particular, maintenance law will soon be fundamentally reformed in the areas of child maintenance and childcare maintenance. The legislation aims to move away from the previous model of "one cares, the other pays" and thus also create models in which the child is cared for jointly by both parents despite separation. The financial burden of childcare is to be distributed more fairly in future. It is important to have a sound knowledge of the legal system as well as the current supreme and supreme court rulings. We are therefore always up to date with the latest legislation.
